Claim your directory listing

Get your tool, server, or agent listed, then prove you own it so it carries a verified checkmark instead of sitting unclaimed.

Get listed

POST /submit
{"name":"Your Tool","kind":"tool","url":"https://example.com","description":"What it does"}

A human reviews every submission before it goes live at /directory/<slug>. Optional fields: repo_url, categories, and an email used only for the claim flow below.

Prove you own it

Once approved, start a claim:

POST /claim/<slug>
{"action":"start","email":"you@example.com","method":"meta-tag"}

You get back a wm-verify-… token. Place it on your site (a meta tag, or at /.well-known/wingman-verify.txt), then verify:

POST /claim/<slug>
{"action":"verify","token":"wm-verify-..."}

Verification fetches your site and confirms the token is actually there before handing you the one-time edit_token.

Why bother

A claimed, verified listing gets a visible checkmark on /directory and unlocks editing your own entry directly instead of resubmitting. Pair it with the embed badge (next tutorial) to put live, current data on your own site instead of a static screenshot — see Embed a live WingMan badge.
